Brief Biography:
I have lived in Missouri all my life. I love to bow hunt. Two bow kills to my credit nothing giant yet but I have alot of years and a lot of determination. I love running beagles and participating in field trials. Turkey hunting is a must come spring. I have four great kids and a wonderful wife. I shoot a Parker bow and don't think i will own anything else.....but you never know. I am also trying to get all of my hunts on film now. If you haven't filmed your hunts you should grab a partner and give it a try. For myself it adds a level of excitement to the hunt. Also if you are unsure of your shot you can review it before you push the deer when you should have given him some time to die

Thanks for the info, sir. We just finally got the Feb. issue out the door yesterday so in roughly a month you'll be seeing one of your offspring in the Next Generation/Your Trophies section of Family Fish and Game.

Yeah no problem at all I understand. In fact I was thinking of putting one of your young'ns in three consecutive issues so they each have 'their own' to show off to friends and family.

By the way did she catch that lunker with that little pole? If so that's impressive.

Also send me correct spellings of the names some time, ages (when caught) and where they caught their fish, etc. for the magazine. Thanks again!

Sure just PM me the address when you have a chance or you can send it to my email: brett@familyfishandgame.com. I'm not sure why people aren't as active on here as they used to be...I haven't been around that long but it's a great site for sure. Since our company bought there will probably be some subtle changes but nothing big. The site was good when we acquired it so we're going to try not to screw it up and scare anyone away.

Oh also do you mind if I use a couple of those pictures of your boys with their fish for our magazine's Your Trophies section? I'll be happy to send you a handful of magazines when they're published... Smile

Pheasant hunting is hit or miss around here depending on where you go; northwest part of the state is probably still the best just because they haven't seen the horrible ice in winter and wet springs during nesting seasons - plus they have more habitat. You can find birds anywhere in the state if you can find good ground, though. If you like watching dogs work you will LOVE pheasant hunting.

Hope you're enjoying FFG/THZ as well...let us know if we can improve anything, add something beneficial to the site/magazine, etc, etc.

Yeah, once in awhile there are huge 6's and I would take one of those over more points any day! Yes, they are trying to do good, just sometimes they can do it the wrong way I guess. Depending on his age, that buck could be legal next year though! Glad your boys are enjoying the new bows!!!

I didn't know you guys had deer restrictions. Well, that's too bad you didn't get a buck, but sounds like you had an awesome season anyways! Congrats on the video kills and that's awesome about your 11-year-old! Yeah, filming hunts is definitely harder than most think. Like you said, twice the scent and people to hide! Our worst problem was being able to communicate on the shot. My husband and I completely screwed up the most perfect doe hunt ever because of that! I needed to just ignore communicating and shoot when I had the shot is what I concluded!!! When it does all come together though, it is so worth it and like you said just as exciting. Yep, I'll be turkey hunting this year--I've never had luck out of a blind though! Lol- hopefully this year will be better! How many turkeys have you got before? I've only gotten one before- out of a stand during the fall- been dang close a couple more times though! Haha!

Hey, I found another Parker shooter! Malotthunting- he got a great pope and young buck with it too at like the age of 15! We might have to start a Parker group between the three of us! hahaha!

Heck yes! Haha! I'm sorry, I will disappoint you though- I love my Parker, but if I had the money I'd be shooting the new Mathews Passion! Haha. Hey, I saw on your bio you started filming hunts- have any luck this season? My family just started that this year too, and man, is it hard! We did okay. Got my husband's and my dad's doe kill on video and my dad filmed my (small) buck kill. Let me know how you did this season!
