Our goose season has been good but not great. I think we might have hit or 100th bird this morning. Close to it if not. Last year our crew hit that number on the 9th day of the early season. To warm. To dry. Crops came off early and fields got plowed under to early. We had to really work for our birds. When it was hot it was hot. We had to be on the ball and kill birds when we had them. Had to get a little unconventional at times and hide in fence rows. UP style hunting. Kind of crazy. How bout you guys?

The birds are definetely tough here also. It's hit and miss. Same story here with bird numbers. Started with about 300 to 400 birds. Maybe 50 now, and scattered. Birds weren't easy here though, not even the first day. They act like late season birds. Wierd. I'm having a great time though. I'm off till the 10th, and I can still hunt every morning after that. Need fresh birds.

Hello, long time no chat. Just thought I would say hi. Getting pumped for hunting season. Lots of good sign in and around my bush. One tree is chewed up and badly beaten by a good size bear. Claw and teeth marks are about seven ft high. Nice size tracks too. Lots of deer scrapes. Put down some deer coke and they have just tore the ground apart. Very promising signs. Hope all is well down your way. Very Happy

Hog hunting is a rush...we hunt them usually when we deer hunt, out of blinds and over corn. During the summer though we use dogs and go on horseback. If you ever get the chance to stick a big 'ol boar it is the biggest adrenaline rush. You need to give it a try sometime.

hey man. yeah, the geese are plentiful and very stupid. we have several hundred that stay at our ponds and pastures year round, and you can pretty much walk up to any of them. fun to shoot though, b/c they pattern so easy, you can set up on the easy.

For sure honker season is right around the corner. Just got back from Nebraska today. Spent a week out there chasing snow geese with my son and two friends. What a blast. That helped take the edge off for a while. Come on September!!

well i wish i could have got out more. i was kinda in the process of buying a house and im getting married in oct so there is a lot of plans to do for that. not only that i just moved down here not too long ago so its been hard to try to find some land. I hate public hunting, too much competition.
