Those are some really nice muley no wonder they stay close to town. Are those some elk sheds your holdin? Around here I'm lucky to have a friend whose parents own property. It's about a ten hour drive but it's worth it just to get out of here for a few days. Your right it's not about the harvest it's about the time spent out doors. I teach my son that and let him know that even if you don't come across a buck just being out there is what it's all about. Hope he will be able to join me this year again. It's good that you take your children with you also and teach them. Not alot of kids get the chance to do things like this. Keep up the good work.

It must be nice living somewhere where you have the opertunity of both (draw or over the counter). Unfortunately where I live now there is neither. So that's why I have to look for someplace to go for elk. I would like to hunt public when I get the chance. Right now the only hunting I get to do is for whitetail and that's on a friends parents property. It's good hunting and usually do real good. I have shown my son how to track a little and what scrapes and rubs are. I would like to get him out and show him how to scout a place out. But that will have to wait till later.

Those were nice pics of the bulls you took. Also nice pics of the herd. Do you hunt on private or public lands? Are tags over the counter or do you have to draw for them? Hope you do as good this year. I already have the itch but deer season is still to far off so I'm looking for a place to go hog hunting or maybe exotic.
