We have feral hogs where i live too they eat and kill everything we can even shoot them out of our trucks. i've only gotten 23 in the past 2 years, and i mostly get them when i'm running trapline or out coyote hunting. they tend to stick to the swamps, but they are like deer in the fact that they feed out in the fields at dusk and dawn. Also use a larger caliber rifle to do the job, most guys will say a .22 will do it but those hogs are tougher then they look. i shot one with a 308 twice in the chest and it charged i had to hit it in the head inorder to kill it. good luck and feel free to ask any other questions you want.

I'm ready to knock some geese down. Saw a bird this morning sporting an orange collar with white letters and numbers. Ontario bird. Weird for this early. If I kill him, he'll be watchin' us eat dinner for a long time.
